There’s no denying it – when the trails get really steep, loose and rocky, there’s nothing quite like a real downhill bike with lots of travel and super slack, forgiving geometry. If you’re headed for double-black bike park terrain, you want to be riding the Devinci Wilson, a bonafied, World Cup-proven, downhill race bike.
Piloted to early season success in 2016 by none other than Stevie “Chainsaw” Smith (RIP), the Devinci Wilson is a real-deal DH race bike. The slack 63.2° head angle, 200mm (8 inches) of suspension in the front and rear and smooth-rolling 27.5 wheels make it the ideal bike for Deer Valley and Canyons black diamond downhill riding. Dave Weagle’s patented Split-Pivot rear linkage completely separates braking forces from the suspension and soaks up big hits like a sponge so you can point it through rock gardens and brake as hard as you want without getting ejected into the trees. The Split-Pivot system also pedals well. Combined with the Wilson’s beefy carbon swingarm you get snappy gate starts with plenty of pedal power to keep you moving when the trail flattens out.
Available in carbon or aluminum, there’s a Devinci Wilson to fit every downhill rider’s budget and style. If you’re visiting Park City to ride the bike parks or you’re local and want to try one out, we carry the aluminum Wilson in our demo-rental fleet. Both versions come with a RockShox Boxxer fork, the RockShox Vivid coil shock in the rear and include a burly aluminum skid plate to protect the downtube and bottom bracket area. All models are spec’d with SRAM drivetrains, an e*thirteen LG1+ chain guide and wide, 780mm handlebars. The Devinci Wilson is ready for the bike park or race course, right out of the box.
