BMC Teammachine SLR – 2017

Photos above are of the 2017 Teammachine SLR 02 with Ultegra Di2. We still have a couple of these for sale from our demo fleet, plus many more SLRs in stock at different spec levels. Call us any time with any questions at all.

BMC’s bikes are defined by their super-clean, thoughtful Swiss design. The embodiment of a tour-level racing bike, the BMC Teammachine SLR is the exact same bike we’ve Tejay Van Garderen, Richie Porte (5th place finisher in the 2016 TdF GC classification), Greg van Avermaet (Olympic Gold winner in 2016) and the rest of the BMC Racing Team riding in the Tour de France. Designed for acceleration and crushing big mountain passes, the Teammachine is ultra-light, wicked laterally stiff with an incredible pedaling platform, nimble, and are surprisingly comfortable. If you’re a competitive rider and you want a bike that’s been proven on the toughest road and mountain courses in the world, the BMC Teammachine should be your weapon of choice.

Using their own in-house ACE (Accelerated Composites Evolution) computer modeling and prototyping technology, BMC is able to test up to 34,000 frame variations per year. The Teammachine SLR frame’s sleek lines, minimal weight and outstanding performance are the result of this sophisticated design process. The final product is a carbon frame that weighs just 790g (Teammachine SLR01), making it one of the lightest in the peloton. The stiff, oversized tubes provide great power transfer but are still able to absorb bumps and dampen vibration from rough pavement.

Available with three grades of carbon and over a dozen different color and spec variations, BMC makes a Teammachine to fit every type of rider and every budget. See the “pricing” tab for a full list of specs, colors and options. There’s even a respectable, comfortable “ALR” aluminum version for those who prefer the strength and durability of aluminum and these bikes amazingly don’t sacrifice much over their carbon counterparts.

Our favorite version, and the most bang for the buck, is the Teammachine SLR02 (seen, above) with Shimano Ultegra Di2. With 02 level carbon, the Teammachine SLR02 frame is just a hair over a 1/4 lbs (200 grams) heavier than the top-of-the-line SLR01. And other than weight, the SLR02 frame is engineered to perform exactly the same – the same stiffness, the same acceleration and the same road-dampening compliance. With the Shimano Ultegra Di2 build shown, the complete bike weight (54cm) for the Teammachine SLR02 is a very respectable 16.8 pounds (7.7kg). Want to make it even lighter? Demo a set of Reynolds Cycling carbon Attack wheels (1365g) for just $24-29 a day and the weight drops to just over 16 pounds.
