Argon 18 Gallium Pro – 2019
Argon 18 Gallium Pro
When you are looking for top tier race road bike, there are a few things you look for:
1) it's lightweight
2) it's efficient
3) its fun to ride
4) it's comfortable.
Whoa, looks like this bike checks all of the boxes then. The Argon 18 Gallium Pro is one of the best race road bikes on the market right now. This is in large part because of its construction and groups set.
The carbon frame that Argon 18 engineered really is good at everything. First of all, it's lightweight. At ~759 grams, you know you aren't dragging any extra weight with you. Furthermore, the frame is built with Argon 18's Horizontal Dual system. Essentially, this means the frame is split into two parts: the bottom half is thicker and made for power, while the top half is devoted to comfort. The power zone has a thicker head tube and bottom tube, meaning that the bike is stiffer and better for power transmission. However, the tubes on the top half of the frame are thinner and more flexible, meaning that the ride is made for maximum comfort. Combine this new tech with the 3D System Headtube, and you have a stiff beast that allows for perfect power transmission.
For the drivetrain, we have the super efficient and easy Shimano Ultegra Di2. This system is a completely wireless and electronic groupset. This means you never have to worry about cable routing or anything like that. The system is super quick, easy to use, and efficient to a T. Combine this with the Shimano Ultegra R8000 brakes, and you have an amazing system on speed control. Its shorter wheelbase means you have quick acceleration, while still maintaining maneuverability in the corners and turns. It goes, and it turns, the perfect combo, right?
Argon 18 Gallium Pro - The Bottom Line
If you are looking for the absolute best performing race road bike in our lineup, then the Gallium Pro is for you. With its electronic wireless Shimano Ultegra drivetrain, you get an incredibly efficient system for any sort of riding you will find on the road. Combine that with Argon 18's Horizontal Dual and 3D Headtube system, and you have an incredibly stiff and efficient bike for the road ahead. The best of all worlds, with absolutely zero compromises.
