Mail Order Demos
Can’t make it to Park City but still want to demo one of our fantastic road or mountain bikes? If you’re ready to buy but want to demo your dream bike before you pull the trigger, our mail-order bike demo program has got you covered! It’s only $600 for a 6-day rental. That’s 6 days on your home trails with any mountain or road bike from our demo fleet, including free round-trip, fully-insured shipping.
We believe you should always try a bike before you buy. We also know it’s not always possible to just pop up to Park City for a day on the bike. The mail order demo program is our answer to that problem. It’s a safe, smart, risk-free way for you to be completely sure before you make a big bike purchase.
- Smart – You wouldn’t buy a car without a test drive, would you? You should always demo a bike before you spend your hard-earned money. The mail order bike demo program makes it possible to do that even if you can’t visit Park City. It also allows you to demo the bike on the roads or trails you know like the back of your hand.
- Risk Free – Because 100% of the $600 rental fees will be applied towards the purchase of the bike, there’s no additional cost if you decide to keep the bike.
- Safe – We ship bikes all the time. All mail order demos are fully ensured and we know how to prep and pack them so they arrive safely and they’re quick and easy to unpack and have ready to ride.
Your mail order demo credit can be applied towards the purchase of any of our demo bikes; or any new bike from our partner brands, including special orders. We carry bikes from over 12 brands, including BMC, Felt, Argon 18, Colnago, Transition, Devinci, Intense and Knolly. So, if you decide your mail order demo wasn’t your dream bike, you’re welcome to try something else and apply your mail-order demo credit towards the purchase of a different bike.

The Fine Print
Bikes arrive 90% assembled with the front wheel and handlebars removed, but are otherwise tuned and ready to go. You have to prepay for the entire cost of the bike (on your credit card, or cash or check — however you choose), then we refund you minus the rental credit when we get it back. If you’d like to pay through cash, wire transfer or check, it’s fairly easy. You’re also welcome to pop into any branch of Wells Fargo to pay for your bike, as well.
When you decide to return it, it’s really easy. Just call or email us to request a prepaid shipping ship, before the end of the last day of your 6-day demo. From there, the bike must be shipped or dropped off to a FedEx Ground authorized ship center, packed and shipped and ready to go, no more than 8 days after arrival. This allows you or your bike shop up to two additional days to pack it up and ship it). Additional days more than 8 are charged at an additional $119 per day (our standard demo rate), or $99 per day for the GX build bikes, and will be taken out of the refund.
The bike must be professionally packed for its return. This means that it arrives at a level packing similar to how it arrived. 90% of almost all of the damage we see happens in transport, so this is really important. You or your bike shop must also take pictures of the packed bike, before it’s shipped, for insurance claim purposes. This is standard now, with FedEx ground and most shippers, for most high-d0llar items. They request photos of the packed bike when processing insurance claims, so it’s OK to just leave the photos on your phone. You only need them in the event the bike is actually damaged. But if you don’t have these pics, you can be held liable for the entire cost of the bike.
If any damage occurs from riding or anything else, you will only have to cover the cost of the damage including crash replacement parts. We go out of our way to usually try to minimize these costs as much as possible on our side and we even often cover the labor on our side. We’re not in the business of trying to fleece people for any damage and we understand that it sometimes, but extremely rarely, occurs.
If the bike is stolen, it is 100% your responsibility and cost.
We do not have any restrictions of use of the bike. It’s OK to enter into a race, for example, and several people have done just this. We just ask that the bike is respected and returned in the same condition it went out, minus normal wear and tear to the drivetrain and other wear parts, from riding. But any damage that occurs, whatsoever, is your responsibility.
Then, once the bike arrives, enjoy it! We hope the bike is as spectacular for you as they are up here!
