One of the reasons we started Park City Bike Demos is so we could show off some of the small, underdog bike companies we believe in. Argon 18, our best-selling road bike brand, is one of those companies. They’re a relatively small, French Canadian road bike manufacturer that builds meticulously-designed, bleeding-edge carbon road bikes. As of this writing, they also have the Yellow Jersey in this year’s Tour de France. The Astana Pro Team riders are on Argon 18 bikes and have done very well in the Tour with Fabio Aru currently wearing the Yellow Jersey (as of July 13th, after Stage 12).

Argon 18 Krypton XRoad Gravel/Endurance Road Bike
Our best-selling road bike at Park City Bike Demos, the Argon 18 Krypton XRoad was built for gravel but we think it makes a fantastic endurance road bike. Visit our Argon 18 Krypton XRoad product page to learn all about it.

Our top-selling road bike is the Argon 18 Krypton XRoad. The XRoad was designed and marketed as a gravel bike but we think it makes an exceptionally versatile and comfortable road bike. Based on Argon 18’s Krypton endurance road bike, the Krypton XRoad has relaxed geometry, a longer wheelbase for stability, generous tire clearance and more powerful, reliable disc brakes. Argon 18’s “Horizontal Dual System” frame design paired with the XRoad’s specially-tuned carbon layup makes the bike extra forgiving on harsh roads but stiff and efficient when you need it to be. All of that makes it perfect for recreational road cyclists who want a bike that’s efficient but won’t punish them on rough pavement or unpaved surfaces.

The Astana Team are riding the brand new, not-yet-available, 2018 Argon 18 Gallium Pro race bike with the Nitrogen Pro aero bike or E-118 for time trial stages (Astana Team bikes photo gallery ). Fabio Aru has ridden his custom-painted metallic red Gallium Pro to the win in stage 5 and he took the Maillot Jaune today, in stage 12. He’s been in the top 5 of the General Classification since stage 5’s summit finish and he is riding very strong. It’s still early in the Tour and the mountains are only just beginning but it looks like Fabio is a very real contender and could put his Argon 18 Gallium Pro on the podium, this year.

I’m sure most of our readers are following the Tour closely. But if you’re not, and you’re in the market for a cutting edge carbon road bike like the Argon 18 Gallium Pro (2017), Argon 18 Krypton or Argon 18 Krypton XRoad, keep your eyes on the results and our Argon 18 Yellow Jersey Sale. Tomorrow (July 14th) our 25% Off Argo 18 Yellow Jersey Sale is on for sure. Who knows after that, though. Maybe Fabio Aru and Team Astana can keep the GC lead – or maybe not. Only time will tell.
